I will be in Pune for the next 2 years after which I will be moving back to Kerala along with my scooter. I do not want to change the registration number of my scooter as I'm taking it back to Kerala in 2 years. What are the procedures I should follow to use my scooter in Pune for the next 2 years without any trouble?
Is it enough to get an NOC from Kerala and pay the road taxes? Please help!

ReplyDeleteYour license was taken form sub RTOffice, Koduvally. But due to some error the details of this license is not entered in the computer system. Motor Vehicle department was fully computerised by the year 2007. The task of entering earlier license and registration details in the data base of the computer system was entrusted with the Kudubasree. This herculian task was done in systematic manner. But it has been found that some license details and some registration details are still remaining to be entered in the system. Now these details are being entered when the original licenses or registration certificates are produced before the respective offices.So I think that you can get the correct details entered at Sub RTOffice, Koduvally showing your original license there.(Your father will have to go in person and show the original license to the officers there and get the details entered in the date base.). After getting the correct details entered, if you apply for a duplicate license you will get a laminated card license.

If you have a valid driving license issued by UAE authorities you can take a license in Kerala without undergoing driving test. A circular of transport commissioner in this regard has been published in this site with the title circular NO 2000. Please go through it. As per the circular a person who holds valid driving license of a foreign country is required to take learning license only. Such persons are exempted for learning period and drivers test. So if you take learner's license you can immediately get a driving license without waiting for learning period or without under going drive'rs test

1. I moved to Trivandrum in May 2013 and brought my car too along. I have obtained NOC from Chennai RTO favouring Trivandrum RTO. i need to register in TVM and need new number incorporating Trivandrum address. Can I file my application for these issues online ? I do not find the link fr the same . What are the formailities - forms, etc. Will Fastrack be of any use to me ?
2. I have a licence ( car and two wheeler ) issued from Chennai. Need to change the address ( trivandrum address ). NOC not taken from Chennai. hw do I go about ?

The license number can be searched and found out from the data base of the computer system form where you took the license. For that you can contact the P.R.O of the office from where you took the license. If you give them your date of birth, details of all the licenses issued to persons with that date of birth can be retrieved. From that your license can be identified based on the name and address of the holder of the driving license.

It means that your license is not included in the data base of the motor vehicles department. In such a case you will have to give your license to the office from where the license was issued and get it entered in the system.

For noting change of address in a driving license, application in white paper has to be submitted along with the original license, and proof of your present address as specified in Rule 4 of Central Motor Vehicle Rule. The feefor noting change of address is rs. 250/- Adhar card is sufficient as proof of address.

.Any personwho can read malayalam or englishcan appear for learners license. Knowledge in computer is not necessary for appearing for learner's license though it is a fully compterised test.The test is designed in such a way.

You will have to go to any akshaya kendra and apply afresh for badge test order.Thefirm you got now is only the general form with the next gtest date printed on it.If you have a computer with internet and an account in SBT/SBI,you can apply online sitting in your house.For this please see my article named guidelines for commom man to make e-payment published in this site.

With Dubai license, youcan obtaina adriving license in kerala very easily, /you obtain a learner's license in Kerala. Driving test is exempted for persons who hold a valid license of another country. Please see circular no 11/2000published in this site.

DeleteWhat are the formalities to be complied with when a bus is sold along with route permit
ReplyDeleteYou cannot sell a bus with route permit without the permission of the concerned Regional Transport Authority. If you sell the vehicle without the said permission your permit will become ineffective from the date of sale of the vehicle. Usually when bus with a route permit is sold, the sale is kept as a secret and permission is obtained from the Regional Transport Authority for transfer of permit. Only after getting the permission for transfer of permit the sale of the bus is made public. So you also apply for transfer of permit before selling the bus, or before issuing the sale letter of the bus. If any more clarification is required please feel to communicate it to me so that I can give suggestion about the matter.

So you are not allowed to use the online services. I think some clerical error has occurred while entering your license details in the system. For getting this corrected, you have to approach the office from where your license was taken. Show them your license and explain your problem. They will definitely get it corrected.

I am only getting 3-4 weeks vacation in a year, so each vacation I am taking new LL & never getting a chance to attend road test. A person holding a valid deriving license of another country can get exemption from the learning time and so he can get a license without much delay,. In other cases there is no way to get this time reduced.

You can drive a vehicle with an L board, valid learner's license and a person near you with a valid driving license who is supposed to give you instructions in driving practise, you can drive a vehicle of the type for which the learner's license and the license of the instructor are valid

You give an application in a white paper with documents to prove your correct date of birth. The date of birth will be corrected.

Three wheeler license is required for driving a three wheeler. Further if you want to drive an auto rickshaw which is a transport vehicle, badge will be required for doing so.

Hi, I would like to clarify one thing which I noted in the motor vehicles website. In the site there is an option to verify the details of each driving licence holder - https://smartweb.keralamvd.gov.in/kmvdnew/services/license/license.php. I took my licence in 1999 and in Jan 2013 I added Badge to this certificate. But when checking by sumitting correct licence number and date of birth, details are not showing. It says "this licence is not authenticated" Could you please comment on this. Thanks! Jobin
ReplyDeleteYour license was originally taken in the year 1999. But when the details of your license was entered in the system a new numbering system was adopted. This may be the reason for getting such remarks when you searched the web. Contact the PRO of the office from where you took your license. Show him the license and explain your problem. He will get it corrected

I think you will have to approach the concerned licensing authority with a copy of the order or notification by which your name change has been authenticated. You contact the concerned licensing authority and get it clarified.

But there seems to be some change in the licence number format. My licence number is E/1778/94. What is the process for renuing the licence.

It means that your license is not included in the date base of motor vehicle's department. Similar cases have been reported earlier also. You contact the PRO of the office from where your license was issued. Hand over the license to him and explain your problem. He will definitely get it included in the data base

I think this license is issued from Sub R.T.Office, Guruvayoor. For getting it included at Sub R.T.Office, Thaliparamba you will have to apply for noting change of address.

1.You can get your date of birth corrected if you apply before the Licensing Authority from where you took your license with an attested copy of the document to prove your correct date of birth.

On the back of the license it is written that 'she is licensed to drive throughout india...' instead of a 'he'. Iam very sad about this and asked many people about how to correct it. Many people said it is impossible to correct, some says go online but there is no option for gender, some say its not a prblm as others have eyes. But i continue to search the net for a remedy. What made it so late is because iam staying in college hostel tamil nadu. So havent got time to go to rto . Finally i found a place and iam requesting you sir to please help me.
Dear Sir...My 2 wheeler registered in Thrissur Town was sold 1 month back to a person in Chavakkad,Thrissur District..all papers pertaining the sale and transfer were signed and handed over to the buyer who till date have not transferred the vehicle to his name..Also I have made a separate receipt of the vehicle with exact date and time of the vehicle and its accessories taken delivery and duly signed by the buyer..I also have photocopies of all these documents, and I don`t feel comfortable in the vehicle still running in my name..despite several reminders to the buyer who tells me that all the papers have been submitted to the Chavakkad RTO through his agent and within the next 2 weeks he will receive the transferred RC by Speed-post..Kindly advise what has to be done for me to be on the safe side always in the event of this vehicle still running in my name..I am an NRI stationed in the Middle-East and due to time constraints,I had to do this during my short leave..Thank You

You can sent a letter to the concerned RTO informing that you have sold your vehicle to -------(name),---------(address) on --------(date). This is all that you can do now.

On the back of the license it is written that 'she is licensed to drive throughout india...' instead of a 'he'. Iam very sad about this and asked many people about how to correct it. Many people said it is impossible to correct, some says go online but there is no option for gender, some say its not a prblm as others have eyes. But i continue to search the net for a remedy. What made it so late is because iam staying in college hostel tamil nadu. So havent got time to go to rto . Finally i found a place and iam requesting you sir to please help me.
This is not a very serious matter. You go to the office direct, contact the public relations officer there. Show your license and explain the problem. They can find a solution to your problem

Your additional class of vehicle taken during 2004 is not seen entered in the database of the department. You show your license to the concerned office and make a request to get it entered. They will defenitely get it done.

ReplyDeleteHello sir, I traveled in an autoriksha from trichur town to mannuthi junction. Before starting the journy i asked to driver about the fair and he told it based on the kilometer and i thought its meter charge. And he put the meter before journy and after reaching mannuthi the meter showed 6.8 km and fair was Rs 58. He asked me for Rs110. But i refused to give and he told it based on kilometer charge and that is 15 rupees per kilometer. I told i will give only meter charge and i told if u have any problem we will go to police station. And we went to police station and the police man told the actual fair should be meter charge plus half of the meter charge. It was a new knowledge for me. And the police man told meter charge is only inside the corporation area. At last after some conversation i forced to give Rupees 90 to him. My doubt is the autofair meter charge is only in city area? or beyond city is there any difference in fair charge?

The easiest method is to download form 29 (two copies) and form 30 part I and part II from the site keralamvd.gov.in, sign it by you and forward it to your wife along with an authorisation to appear before the R.T.O/ Jt. R.T.O for transferring the ownership of the vehicle. After the vehicle is sold the purchaser can apply transfer or ownership online from any akshaya kendra and if necessary, your wife can contact the concerned R.T.O/ Jt. R.T.O and speak for you. Actually the owner of the vehicle need not be present in the office while applying for transfer of ownership of a vehicle. As per S.R.O No 830/2012 only meter charges can be collected in Kochi, Kozhikkode, Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur corporations and major towns of Kannur, Kottayam and Palakkad during 5 am to 10 pm and 50 % extra charges can be collected during 10 pm to 5 am. It also provides that during day time 50 % extra charges can be collected in places other than those stated above if only onward journey is performed.

For driving a private auto rickshaw only three wheeler license is required.But if you intent to drive an auto rickshaw intended to carry goods or passengers you need a badge also. Badge is an authorisation to drive transport vehicles. Transport vehicle is a vehicle used for hire or reward. Hope it is clear

Attested copy of the certificates can be kept in the vehicle for showing to the inspecting officers and you are liable to produce the original for their verification,within a prescribed time period, if they require so.

Hi, It is better you travel after getting registration certificate. As the status is printed, you meet the head of the office and inform your problem. He will definitely make arrangements so that you will get your R.C without any further delay. When you travel R.C, insurance certificate,tax token and driving license are required. As this is a new vehicle pollution under control certificate is not required

In Thrissur Distric, auto rickshaws are charging Rs.15/- per km during day time for plying out of town limits and also for plying into the town from a place which is located outside the town limit. Is this right?

ReplyDeleteI have purchased a new car and I was opting for fancy number.Hence I took the Temperory registration fron RTO Trivandrum. But I couldn't make the registration since I was out of state due to an emergency official assignment. When I enquired an agent, he told an affidate must be submitted to RTO and I should meet in person with the RTO inorder to register the vehicle. Kindly help me know about the format for the affidavit and the details.
