Firstly, thank you for such an informative blog.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know if we can approach the RTO for renewal of driving license before 2 or 3 months of its expiry for valid reasons like the person may be going abroad and he needs to get IDP?
Also please specify within how many days we can get the renewed license
Hi,
ReplyDeleteRenewal of driving license applications can be filed 30 days before the expiry of the license and withing 30 days after the expiry. Such licenses will be renewed without any break in the validity. Renewal of driving license application can be filed within 5 years after the expiry of the validity. in such cases delay fee and other fines will have to be remitted and the license will be renewed from the date of submitting the application only. There will not be continuous validity as in the case of timely renewal. After five years renewal is not possible.s Similarly there is no provision to renew a license more than 30 days in advance, whatever be the reason.
